Linux DVDs have been discontinued — choose Linux on USB instead

We no longer sell Linux OS on DVD. Our Linux USB drives offer a far more reliable installation process, performance is up to 5× faster than DVD, and offers a more realistic experience when trying Linux in Live mode.

You can also format and reuse your USB drive afterwards to try other Linux operating systems at a later date, using our Linux OS manuals to guide you.

Arch Linux on DVD is a widely respected, lightweight, and flexible operating system designed for competent users who want to understand how their system works. Unlike other distributions that come pre-configured, Arch allows you to build your system from the ground up, installing only what you need. Arch Linux follows a rolling-release model, meaning you install it once and update it forever.

Features

Rolling Release: Never worry about major system upgrades again; your system is continuously updated with the latest software versions.
Pacman Package Manager: A lightweight and powerful package manager that handles dependency resolution and installation with speed.
Arch User Repository (AUR): Access a massive community-driven repository containing thousands of packages not found in the official repositories.
Complete Control: You decide which desktop environment, audio server, and drivers to install, resulting in a bloat-free experience.

Benefits

Always Up-To-Date: You will always have the absolute latest kernel and software features as soon as they are released.
Educational: Ideal for learning how Linux works internally, from the command line to the graphical interface.
Highly Customizable: Tailor every aspect of the operating system to your specific workflow and hardware requirements.
Minimalist: Starts with a minimal base system, ensuring no resources are wasted on unused background services.

Arch Linux does not come with a specific set of pre-installed applications like a web browser or office suite by default; instead, it provides the tools to install exactly what you prefer. This freedom allows you to choose between GNOME, KDE Plasma, XFCE, or Tiling Window Managers like i3. The core of the system is the Pacman package manager, which is renowned for its speed and simplicity. While the installation is text-based, this DVD includes the necessary tools and scripts to get your base system running quickly.

Arch Linux is an independent distribution, developed from scratch rather than being based on another system like Debian or Fedora. It adheres to the "KISS" principle (Keep It Simple, Stupid), focusing on elegance, code correctness, and minimalism. It has one of the most comprehensive documentation resources in the world, the Arch Wiki, which is an invaluable asset for Linux users of all distributions. Arch is the ultimate choice for those who want a personalized computing experience.

Arch Linux is the perfect choice for developers, hobbyists, and power users who want full control over their computing environment. It offers a transparent, powerful, and strictly functional operating system. Whether you are coding, gaming, or content creating, Arch provides a solid, bleeding-edge foundation that evolves with your needs.
