OpenMandriva's lineage traces back to Mandriva Linux, which itself was a fork of Mandrake Linux. Mandrake Linux was originally created in 1998 with the goal of making Linux easier to use, particularly for newcomers. Mandriva continued this mission, gaining popularity for its user-friendliness and comprehensive feature set. After Mandriva S.A. faced difficulties, the community stepped in to continue the project, leading to the birth of OpenMandriva Association and the ongoing development of OpenMandriva Lx, carrying forward the legacy of user-centric Linux innovation.

OpenMandriva Lx is an ideal choice for Linux enthusiasts, developers, and power users who seek a stable, cutting-edge, and highly customizable operating system. It's perfect for those who value community-driven development, desire the latest software, and appreciate a system that puts them in control. Whether you are a seasoned Linux user or looking to explore a powerful and versatile open-source alternative, OpenMandriva Lx offers a compelling and rewarding computing experience.
